FROM THE DESK OF THE MANAGING DIRECTOR

First October 1992 remains a remarkable milestone in the history of the Opticals Botswana Group. On that day the group made a beginning by starting its first practice in the name of Francistown Opticians at Barclays Plaza, Blue Jacket streeet,Francistown. From its humble beginning it had grown from strength to strength and spread its wings all over Botswana. Currently, the Opticals Botswana Group has eleven practices four in Gaborone, three in Francistown, one in Mahalapye, Maun, Molepolole and Letlhakane. Apart from these practices, the group has satellite practices in Jwaneng, Palapye, Serowe, Sowatown, Orapa, Selebi Phikwe, Kasane, Ghanzi and Gumare.

All the practices are well equipped and managed by experienced optometrists. The group is being run by highly qualified professionals with strong focus on delivering services of International Standards to its customers. This has been made possible by providing continuing education/training for all our professional members to keep their practices at par with international trends.

The burden of blindness is increasing throughout the world and Botswana is no exception. There is in fact an estimated 72000 Batswana with Low Vision, most of which is correctable with spectacles. At the Opticals Botswana Group our motto is to bring latest developments in the eye care industry within the reachof common man.
